U.S. National Whitewater Center
This place was so fun! Went on a Sunday in September, and it wasn't crowded. My mom and I got there just before 10, rented a bin, started with kayaking at 10:30, zip lined at 12, and white water rafted at 2pm (the later two required reservations). If we could've stayed longer, I would have loved to do the deep water solo rock climbing. They had a couple of great food places with beer and other beverages, although vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options were lacking or non-existent, so we left to eat for a late lunch. There were lots of restrooms, plenty of water fountains, and a good mixture of people of all sorts. Be prepared to get your steps in - and a great workout!
Attended the 2-day Whitewater Kayaking 101 course. Had a blast. The instructors are super knowledgeable and very easy to learn from. The instructors created a positive environment where you were free to ask any oar as many questions as you like. They also provided additional instruction one on one to help you get the move or technique down. Looking forward to attending the next phase.
There is something for everyone at the Whitewater Center! Lots of river activities on land and in the water like walking trails, biking trails, rock climbing, ropes courses, kayaking, paddle boarding, rafting, and so much more. If you like live music and other events, there is some of that, too. There are a few places for food and drinks. The food is fantastic and lots of drink options. In the winter, there is even an ice skating rink. This is a great place to spend time.
Family rafting was really fun. Our raft guide, Eric, was really nice and made our experience much more exciting. He also did a lot of hard work because our two little sons couldn't paddle hard enough. Hope we can meet again next time. Climbing and flat water activities were good too. We are planning to come again soon.
Went for the day and had a great time. The adventure rafting is a definite must. Everyone should try that especially if it's your first time. They are constantly adding new high ropes course routes and new attractions. Their deep dive climbing wall is a lot of fun and you don't have to worry about ropes. If you decide to get lunch there, their food and drink selection is worth it. Can't wait to go again.
