Catching up on reviews. I stopped by for the first time on Sunday, 05-08-22. Couldn't be with my mom for Mother's Day so I took advantage of the free admission being offered. Truly another one of Charlotte's hidden gems! I've driven by for years & couldn't believe the beauty that captivated me just beyond downtown. It was chilly that day, but the flowers in bloom warmed my heart. I was just as mesmerized by that swamp chestnut oak as I was by any tree I'd seen near Charleston. The staff was very friendly. They were eager to answer my questions and give me a great history lesson. Would definitely return.

The place was awesome. The grounds and house were great. The tour guide was great as well. All the people were very nice and friendly.. We will definitely be going back soon.

This was such an interesting place to see. I had no idea it was haunted. If I could be brave enough I would probably go to the ghost tour, but I'm still not sure. One of the ladies had on a ghostbuster jacket so I had a sneaking suspicion. It was haunted. So I asked and they informed me that it was the doctor that used to live there, the governess, and the little girls haunt the place. And then it was confirmed by another person that was there that some of the tourists had had their hair pulled or had been pushed by one of the ghosts. One of the workers said they've even heard their name called which sounds very spooky. Great time!

A hidden gem in Charlotte! I love historic houses, but had never heard of this one and there are no others in the area. Be sure to go on a Friday or the last Saturday of the month so you can take the hour-long guided tour. Our docent, Ishmael, was superb. He told a great story, taught me some things I didn't know (and I'm a history major and previous museum curator, so that's a high bar), and even kept several children on the tour interested for the whole time. Great and informative way to spend an afternoon.

On April 21, twenty three of our garden club members enjoyed a wonderful day at Historic Rosedale. The azaleas, iris and dogwoods were in fine form and we saw many lovely native trees and shrubs. Cher and the garden staff were most welcoming, Rosedale is a real treasure. Thanks.
