The Mint Museum Uptown is one of the most iconic venues in Uptown Charlotte for hosting unique events. Our major event spaces include a stunning atrium with five story large glass panels, a top floor ballroom that includes an over sized terrace with sweeping views of the city, and an industrial space that can hold up to 500 guests.
This museum is awesome! There are five floors. Floors 2-5 have galleries. Floors 3-5 have the most interesting art pieces. Most artworks have written stories explaining the origin of the piece. The fifth floor is dedicated to displaying the work of local artists. I highly recommend the Mint Museum. The only complaint I had was that they only offered $5 off parking. They didn't have a voucher for full parking validation. Parking is $3/half hour.
This is an amazing place to check out. Has four floors of alternating exhibits with some permanent exhibits. The art at this place is absolutely amazing to check out if you have some time while you're in. Charlotte, North Carolina only takes about 1 to 2 hours to walk through relatively inexpensive for what you get to see a lot of local artists as well as still living artist, which is kind of amazing considering most places have art. That's a couple hundred years old. This place has a lot of new and modern art and a lot of very, very large pieces that are absolutely amazing to witness.
The Mint Museum is a must see when visiting Charlotte. The price of admission gives you access to both locations of the museum, although you probably will not have time to explore everything in a day. It took me over two hours and I couldnt get through the Uptown one. I photographed so many different exhibits and there were interactive ones with lights and scents that were fun for both adults and children.

As my family, and I approached the ticket desk, unfortunately didn't get the name of the woman who greeted us, but she was absolutely amazing! We can't wait until our next vacation to Charlotte, to do it all over again. What awesome experience!
Great museum, lots of art Made in North Carolina. I especially liked the more contemporary work. If you have any doubts, just walk in the front door and take a look at what you can see from the reception area. If you like that, you love the rest !
