Ive done it all here! From sold out concerts to hockey games, The Coliseum is a great venue. It is a Historical place in Charlotte, but the Checkers moving back to the Coliseum and revamping it has truly made it an enjoyable place to go for an event. There are a fair amount of dining options, and even a lower level dining experience (The Red Line Club). With more expansion and additions coming, Id highly recommend checking out The Biscuit for your next event!
Came for my first Checkers game and had a great time. I took the first parking exit off of Independence Blvd. ( There's 4) and walked over to the Coliseum through the pedestrian underground bridge to safely cross the road. Parking was $8. Sat in section 106 great views! Lots of interactive Game promotions to keep the crowd engaged. The price selection is on par with other professional venues. However if you pay with cash there may be some beer specials. A lot of the concessions are CASH Only so keep that in mind you may have to walk a bit further. The Red Line restaurant has a bar that serves cocktails and liquor. I definitely recommend anyone going. Pro Tip: Buy the $5 Large popcorn the small is only $4; what's $1 more?
Great place that I have been coming to for the past 4 decades! I have seen everything there from concerts, wrestling, circus, vendor shows, to most recently the last couple of years the Charlotte Checkers Minor League Hockey! The owners and the Checkers have put a lot of time and money into updating it. I am very impressed! The new seats, paint, and updates to the concession and restrooms are awesome! I do have a few complaints, hence only giving four stars. The $8 for parking is ridiculously high for this area and type of events. Now if was uptown and better accommodations, I could understand, but not for here. The other complaint would be that the price of the concession products, specifically the beer, is as high or higher than what Panthers Stadium charges! Change those couple of things and people would love coming here more!
Tickets are affordable. Great seats and sightlines to ice where action is. Some major Concession stands only accept cash? In today's day and age, I think they should make debit or credit cards an option if you want customers to purchase your $8 beer!
The only problem I have is the ridiculously high prices for Disney anything. $15 finding dory snow cone, $10 cereal box of popcorn. My wife spent $40 within the first 20 minutes we were there. It would also be nice if they would inform others about parking fee. GOOD GRIEF!
