UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel & Conference Center
Great experience planning our wedding with UNC Charlotte Marriott from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, spacious, and all of the staff were helpful and kind. The outdoor space was great to host our cocktail hour. All of our guests enjoyed being on a light rail stop to take to uptown. Danielle was our contact person and day of planning coordinator from the hotel. She was amazing! Very responsive, answered our questions, organized, and connected us to whoever we needed for room blocks, food tasting, and anything else. She assisted with logistics to set up our decorations and helped more than we could have asked behind the scenes. We were able to upgrade to a suite room that had a great view and space for us to relax or host family/friends. All of the food was amazing by the hotel Chef who was helpful in making dietary accommodations for our guests. Our guests, family, and friends only have good things to say about the hotel, staff, and wedding reception we had. Our friends made a point to tell us how attentive the bartending staff was and how friendly they were. We could not have asked for a better experience all the way around!
My 5 stars are based on the cleanliness of the rooms and the stellar service! I arrived with a group to attend a nearby conference and chose to stay here. Not only were the rooms personalized to our name, but the hotel housekeeper must've noticed my makeup and left out additional makeup wipes (such a small touch that meant a lot!). The bed was SO comfortable and it felt cozy, spacious and relaxing. The front desk was super helpful with check in! Big shout out to the team there!! The Starbucks was fresh and delicious. Another worthy note is that the artwork throughout the hotel was created by the faculty and students of UNC!!! I thought that was super cool as well. During my next stay in NC, I'm definitely coming back here!
Sam running the bar is one of the absolute best bartenders Ive come across, not just in a hotel setting. He cranks out enough work for four people. Seriously on top of everything going on around him. Looking forward to another stay. Will come back just for him. Aside from that, the property is nice. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Cant wait until they get food back in the lounge.
So this hotel is very nice, shower are the best, rooms have big windows and I love it. Now when it comes to service in their dinning, its sucks big time. There was a 30 min wait for sitting and we ordered tea one morning received a nice size cup for $6 but today we went to get that same tea and they were slow in getting the tea and they gave us small cups for $6. I was annoyed and no need to complain because by the time some one to talk to you you would have to wait for ever. Also their menu sucks in my opinion; however, the collards is the best thing on the menu, so if you do go to dinner the collards is a MUST HAVE!
New hotel very modern. Staff was polite and attentive. Clean as a pin. Went for a conference with a large amount of people on Property. The reason for the two star is all about valet parking, Self park was inconvenient and that is fine. They apparently changed parking management companies (valets) starting the day we were departing and we were on a tight schedule,. According to the parking company, no one from the hotel informed of the large number of checkouts that would occur 6-7am. No hotel valet working, and the parking company management company managers were there with no valets. Took 45 minutes to get car and we were late (as well as a whole lot of other people) to our meeting start.
